Small Group Questions: Be Fruitful

pursue
Invite someone to pray asking the Spirit to move and speak during your small group time.

ICEBREAKER

Ask:
If your life was a piece of fruit, what would it be and why?

DISCUSS

Read:
Have one of the group read Luke 13:6-9

Discuss:
What are the two sides of God’s nature?
His longing for us to produce fruit, for the Kingdom to grow;
and His patience with us, building us up with good food so that we can produce.

Ask:
What fertilizer has God been trying to get into your life?

Read:
Have one of the group read 2 Peter 3:9

Ask:
How is God patient with us.
Do you have an example from your life?
Where do you need fertilizer in 2017?
What is holding you back?

Sharing:
Have each member ask the group “What can you see in me that needs fertilizing?”
Have each person pray for the group member on their left Pray as you go through this sharing time.

Ask:
Do you find it easier to read the word of God alone in your daily time with God, or in the weekly group?
How can you develop and change so that both are happening.
In what ways can you be the fertilizer for each other?

Read:
Have a group member read John 15:16

Ask:
Why did Jesus choose us?

Discuss:
Read John 15:8, and discuss the huge longing in God’s heart for us to produce fruit.
Read John 15:9. What is the relationship of obedience to bearing fruit?
What areas of disobedience can ruin our fruit?
David talked about unforgiveness and pride. What others are relevant?
Discuss pain, grief and loss as fertilizer that helps to keep us focused and dependent on God, so becoming more fruitful.

PRAYER
Pray that God continues to grow each group member. Pray into a fruitful 2017 for God’s Kingdom through your lives.

God Bless.
