“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!

“Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God. For just as we share abundantly in the sufferings of Christ, so also our comfort abounds through Christ.

Key Points:

  • God is able to bring comfort out of tough situations
  • One day our reality will be free of all pain – but bad things WILL happen because of sin in our life on Earth
  • We need to have a “new life understanding” of what it means to suffer
  • God is the father of compassion, and the God of all comfort
  • Only true comfort comes from God
  • Because God is who He says He is, He comforts us in our trouble
  • Our comfort is not only for us, but also for the comfort of others
  • His comfort produces patient endurance
  • Suffering builds our trust and reliance, faith and hope in God
  • PRAYER is a mighty weapon that builds faith and hope in the midst of suffering
