Covid 19- Latest Leadership Announcement

G’day Church,

I’m writing to you today to outline our road forward after Premier Mark McGowan announced that from June 6, the WA Government will be easing restrictions and moving to Phase 3 of the COVID WA Roadmap.

Current health advice supports the re-opening and increasing capacity of venues and facilities, and an increase in indoor and outdoor non-work gatherings, while continuing to practise physical distancing and good personal hygiene.
Key announcements are:
• Non-work indoor and outdoor gatherings of up to 100 people per single undivided space, up to 300 people in total per venue over multiple spaces (100/300 rule) are permitted
• The 4 square metre rule will be revised to 2 square metres per person for all venues

I’m super excited to announce that we will be having church this Sunday at 9am and 10.45am in our building! As you can imagine there are a lot of logistics for us to work through and communicate so here is what we need you to know…
• Each service will only be able to accommodate up to 100 adults (main auditorium) and 100 children (in Waters Edge and Discovery Cove).
• If you wish to attend our physical service you need to register yourself and or your family here
• If you know someone who might struggle with the registering process please check in with them to see if they would like some assistance or get them to ring the office and we can do it for them
• When you arrive on Sunday…
-Please arrive 15 minutes earlier so that you can do your “checking in”, avoid long lines at 9am and 10.45am and to also honour those who have prepared for us to start the services on time
-Kid’s ministry will be on in both services for children aged 2 years old up to children in year 6. Before parents enter the main church building ALL Children will need to be checked in via the Discovery Cove Hall side gate off Murray St into the Seminar Rooms. Make sure you check your inbox for more information about the Children’s Ministry procedures from Bec. (Please note that children cannot be left on site without a parent or guardian)
-Parents will then need to walk around the building to the front of the church
-All people wanting to attend the main service will need to check in at the front door as we will need to keep records of all attendees, including names and contact details, to assist with contract tracing if required
-We will need to observe, and encourage, physical distancing (1.5 metres rule, with 1 person per 2 square metres), this includes no handshaking and hugs
-Maintain good hand and respiratory hygiene. There will be hand sanitiser at entrance and exit for you to use
-Communion and offering will be done in a safe way
-Café will not be open
-All of the touch points and surfaces will be cleaned and disinfected before and after the services
-When the service is finished we will be asking parents to collect their children from Waters Edge and Discovery Cove via the playground and for everyone else to follow them pretty much immediately out through the café area so that that the staff and volunteers can reset, clean and disinfect for the next service and allow people who are attending the second service to be able to enter the building and check in through the front of our building
-If you are unwell please stay home
-We also encourage you to download the CovidSafe app
• Please know that once the registered numbers reach 100 you will not be able to attend that service, please try the other service. Numbers will need to be strictly monitored
• If you are unable to register for either service please know that we will be continuing our church online which will premiere at 9am on our YouTube channel or will be available for you to watch whenever you wish via our website

We hope that you are excited and that you are looking forward to what’s ahead. See you in person or online this Sunday. In this together…

Rod Thom
Senior Minister
