What is Bless Our Community

Bless Our Community is our initiative in term 4 that looks at ways we can focus on reaching out and blessing our friends, family, neighbours, work colleagues, school and university friends and the community surrounding our church.

BLESS Stands for:

Begin with prayer

The following document gives more information about BLESS

In your own community

We encourage everyone to pray and seek the Lord about ways you can BLESS people as individuals, families or in your Belong Groups. We have this simple handout sheet to help you in this process.

Christmas Hampers

It’s almost Christmas Hamper time again!! We would love to invite you to give financially to the purchase of supplies for our Hampers. This can be done by a cash donation or any of the electronic ways as listed.

If you have anyone in your world who would benefit from receiving a hamper this Christmas – please let us know. It might be someone who has suffered financially, job loss, death of a loved one, separation, divorce or illness. We can offer a little bag of goodies to bless them for this festive season. Our request to you is that you deliver the hamper to your friend/s. They will be available the week prior to Christmas.

Any questions or queries please contact Julie Bond  –  julie.bond@lifestreamscc.com

Kids and Youth

In Lifestreamers Kids Church over November and December we are exploring BLESS and a different aspect each week. The kids will ‘Begin with Prayer’ with preparations and planning for a service project later in the series. We will then cover ‘Listening’ and ‘Eating’ with guest speakers and craft activities. There are a few weeks set aside for the children to do their own and a collective special project to ‘Serve’ the community which will include gifts and other Christmas themed ways of appreciating the people around us. Lastly our ‘Story’ week will include the kids learning about sharing their stories, sharing how Jesus has impacted their lives and also sharing stories from their ‘Serve’ project. We’re looking forward to learning about how to BLESS people around us and BLESSing our Community this year!

We are focusing on BLESS at Youth this term, going through each letter of the acronym. One of our BLESS projects is Angel Tree, a program which provides Christmas presents for children of parents in prison. Each small group will together choose and buy two children a Christmas present this year. We are also hosting a Progressive Dinner, an opportunity to invite someone we have been praying for along to youth group for the night and practice eating together. We are so excited to learn about the BLESS concept and put this into practice!
