A huge part of belonging in any church community is finding ways to get involved – serving in an area or ministry that God leads you towards. At Lifestreams we have many opportunities to volunteer and be a part of the vibrant community of God’s people. Take a look at the list below and if you are interested please contact one of the relevant team leaders using the form at the bottom of the page, and take the next step!
Volunteer Opportunities at Lifestreams
We have many ways to get involved in local mission through Lifestreams. There is a dinner for people with other countries, a lunch for people in our community, a woodworking shed, a craft group, a group for seniors and so many more opportunities to connect with people in our community.
Making people feel welcome when they arrive at one of our Sunday services, being the friendly face and warm smile to stand at the door and shake hands as people come into God’s house.
Join a team who prepare, serve, or clean up communion trays and take up the offering.
Music & Sound
As a central part of our Sunday services, there is an opportunity to serve at Lifestreams either center-stage or behind the scenes as part of our music and sound team. We are also looking for volunteers to operate the presentation systems during our services, so if you would like to be a part of the team in this way then please let us know.
Graphics & Videos
For those with the creative flair, we can always use your help! If you have a passion for digital media or an eye for design then we’d love to get in touch.
Lifestreamers Children’s Ministry
Teaching and guiding our next generation of church leaders, this is a rewarding opportunity to pass on the faith to the children at Lifestreams.
Lifestreams’ children’s ministry (and other areas) uses a digital check-in system to keep track of attendance and make sure everyone is safe and accounted for. We need volunteers to greet families with kids as they arrive on a Sunday, check them in, print name tags and point new families in the right direction.
Lifestreams’ youth ministry runs on Friday nights during the school term and is available for years 5-12. The groups rely on volunteer leaders who are keen to invest in the next generation, taking time to speak into the lives of these young people and lead by example.
Our café is open for services on Sunday. Be part of a team that creates a welcoming space. Roles include preparing and serving food and drinks, customer service and clean up.
On Sundays we have a welcoming team who look out for and connect with any visitors and those who may not have connected well yet, so if you’re keen to have a chat, get to know people and make them feel welcome, this is a great place to serve! There is also a chance to be involved in cooking meals for new parents or families in need. If your love language is cooking, then jump on the team and join the ministry of food.
Be part of a team caring for pre-schoolers from 9.30am-11.30am fortnightly during school terms while their mums enjoy a couple of hours on-site at MOPS (Mothers of Pre-Schoolers).
Lifestreams are privileged to host a wide range of events both for the church and greater community. If you have a gift for events management, or would like to serve in setup, catering, cleanup or one of many other events-related areas then we would love to get you involved.
Small groups are a great way to go deeper in our faith, coming alongside others for a time of discipleship, study, prayer and fellowship. If you would like to connect with one of our many existing groups running throughout the week, or start a group of your own, then let us know and we can help to facilitate this.
The Shed (9am – 12 noon weekdays)
An opportunity for someone with woodworking skills and a heart for people to assist members of the community who come to The Shed.
You may be keen to be involved in some other area of ministry that is not listed here. There are lots more opportunities to get involved at Lifestreams and we would love to chat with you about that!
