Peace and Hope | December 2022
Join us as David takes us through the second episode in our Christmas Series, God With Us.
In this sermon David unpacks how Jesus, the Prince of peace, brought peace and hope to so many broken people when He walked this earth. Today, in our broken world full of pain, despair and confusion, Jesus also brings us peace and hope. David encouraged us to give thanks to and praise God, even though it seems irrational in the midst of the mess, so we do experience the beauty of His peace pouring in. Don’t sabotage His peace by worrying and stressing. Thanksgiving is a statement of trust and a very powerful weapon today. This Christmas, Jesus encourages to receive His peace and hope and creatively pass His gift on to other broken people.

Today, we acknowledge God’s sovereignty over these lands, now called Australia. We praise the Creator of all things, affirming God’s call for us to be faithful stewards of this good creation. We are thankful for the peoples of the Wadjuk Noongar nation – for their deep, ongoing connection and care of this land, upon which we meet. We honour their Elders, past, present and emerging. As a faith community, we join with the restoring, reconciling and healing work of the Holy Spirit, amongst all peoples of Australia.
